Stop #1: Bogota, Colombia

Bogota is a big bustling city, that offers everything you would expect from a major South American city including colorful neighborhoods, vibrant nightlife, lots of nice restaurants and beautiful monuments. Bogota is increasing in popularity but is still a nice city to visit, if you want to explore South America without too many tourists around you. Bogota is also an amazing starting point, if you're dreaming of exploring the very best of Colombia. Why not embrace the opportunity and go on a round trip all the way up to the Caribbean coast line and back again.

Stop #2: Quito, Ecuador

The capital of Ecuador has a lot to offer, and especially the view point from Angel of Quito is absolutely spectacular. The upcoming area La Floresta is also worth a visit, and if you're around you should try the food at the restaurant Urko - You won't regret that! Though Quito is a great place to stay, most backpackers quickly skip out of the city to explore the wonderful paradise islands of Galapagos. If you ever get sick of hanging out with 100-year-old turtles, you can dash off to the lush green inland jungles and hang out with parrots and piranhas instead.

Round trip: From Quito to Lima

You should really get excited for this amazing 15 day round trip, that takes you from Quito to Lima through some of the most authentic parts of South America - especially Banos is one of the most amazing places you'll experience in a very long time. Besides being a good and safe way to enjoy South America, you can look forward to enjoy the beautiful nature together with other adventurous travelers from every corner of the world. Explore pre-Inca ruins, walk the colonial streets, and get an introduction to the Amazon and its people with time in a jungle community.

Stop #3: Lima, Peru

Lima is so much more than just a big city. Here you can go paragliding along the coast line, go sand-boarding or check out some of the historical districts. When you think of Peru, you will probably also think of the incredible Machu Picchu. To hike this majestic Inca empire is a real challenge but probably one of the main highlights during your trip to South America.

Apart from Peru's main attraction, you should also visit the ancient Inca capital of Cuzco where you can opt in for learning Spanish - it will come in handy while travelling around South America! You should also visit the world's highest Lake Titicaca and the small town called Huacachina. Enjoy the giant sand dunes and it's beautiful palm-line lagoons.

Stop #4: Panama City, Panama

Panama City is a fantastic starting point if you're about to explore Central America's beautiful countries. Check out the canal, the beautiful beaches and paradise islands of San Blas. From Panama City, aside from Panama itself, it's ideal to explore neighboring Costa Rica and all the tropical highlights the country has to offer. Let's help you get the most out of your stay in Central America before boarding the KLM flight that will take you home.
